게토얼라이브
게토얼라이브는 서울 성수동의 공연장입니다. 성수 일대가 거대한 공장지대였던 시절에는 설렁탕집이었던, 그리고 이후에는 17년 동안 비어있었던 이곳은 2016년부터 음악이 끊이지 않는 예술공간이 되었습니다.
그동안 400회 이상의 공연을 기획하면서 게토얼라이브가 추구하는 자유로움과 실험정신에 걸맞는 최전선의 창작음악, 즉흥음악 프로그램을 만들어왔습니다. 그것은 프리 재즈, 스탠다드 재즈, 국악, 현대음악, 전자음악 등 다양한 장르를 포괄하며, 창의적인 음악인들과 열정적인 관객들이 있었기에 가능했습니다. 게토얼라이브는 장르의 경계선을 확장하고 넘어서려는 음악인들의 실험실인 동시에 다양한 음악의 확장된 최전선들이 서로 침범하고 교차하는 장소가 되고자 합니다. 페스티벌과 음원 차트에는 없는 음악, 재즈 클럽에서 듣지 못하는 재즈, 콘서트홀에서 듣지 못하는 클래식, 게토얼라이브는 이런 음악을 경험할 수 있는 곳입니다.
게토얼라이브는 프리재즈 등 한국의 즉흥음악과 실험음악이 이어온 발걸음을 계승하는 동시에, 모든 분야의 예술에 열려있습니다. 그동안 국내외 뮤지션이 진행하는 즉흥음악 마스터클래스, 미술 창작 워크숍, 무용, 연극, 미디어 아트 전시 등 다양한 문화 행사가 게토얼라이브에서 이루어졌습니다. 2020년 부터는 한국 재즈 및 즉흥음악 씬을 연구하고 기록하기 위해 그동안 다수에 걸친 라이브레코딩 및 기획 경험을 바탕으로 인디 음악 레이블 ‘GhettoAlive Records’로서의 첫 걸음을 내딛었습니다.

GhettoAlive is a live music venue/independent label in Seoul, dedicated to improvised and experimental music. A place that used to be a small eatery for local factory workers, followed by a period of abandonment of 17 years, is now a place with one of the most diverse music programs in Seoul.
Since 2016, we have produced more than 500 performances with the free and experimental spirit that GhettoAlive pursues, covering various genres: free jazz, standard jazz, Korean traditional music, contemporary classical Music, modular synthesizer, electronic, rock, and more. It was all possible because of the cooperation and trust between the staff, creative musicians, and of course, one the most passionate audiences in Seoul.
GhettoAlive is a laboratory or playground for musicians where the boundaries of various genres are broken down and recombined into new expressive forms. Music that you cannot find at music festivals and top 100 charts, jazz that you can’t hear at jazz clubs, and classical music that is not allowed in concert halls, GhettoAlive welcomes and values those types of music.
